Of course these changes in our genes can be both positive and negative.

Exercising and eating a healthy diet, for instance, is extremely supportive to positive gene expression, but being exposed to high levels of mental stress or environmental toxins on the other hand definitively is not, adversely affecting our health and risk for disease.

Using the latest technology in gene analysis, researchers at the Karolinska Institute found that even a small amount of regular daily exercise changes the fat storage levels of cells, which in turn affects epigenetic gene expression in many profound and diverse ways-including changes in more than 5,000 sites on the genome – particularly in genes known to play a role in energy metabolism, insulin response, inflammation, and those linked to a heightened risk of developing obesity or diabetes.

Learning Something New Could Stave Off Alzheimer’s

images (1)Last night we watched a program in which Angela Rippon investigated whether she had inherited the genes responsible for Alzheimers, as her mother, and possibly her father had suffered from it. Luckily she appeared not to have inherited it to her great relief.

It seems possible that by the age of 85 one in 5 of the population could have signs of dementia. It seems to take 15 years from onset to develop. Plaque develops in the brain, a sticky substance which smothers and kills healthy cells. Usually this develops in old age. However a doctor discovered in some of her older patients although scans revealed plaque, some were unaffected and showed no symptoms. There is much to be discovered about the disease.

Usually Alzheimers affects the elderly but there is a type which affects 30 year olds. A great deal of research is being carried out especially with this younger group. This group may reveal the secrets to finding delaying drugs, or cures.

It is thought there are things we can all do to ward off dementia. Besides the obvious suggestion of living a healthy lifestyle, it has been discovered, sleep is possibly very important as when we sleep soundly for regular long periods the accumulated plaque is washed away with a chemical in the spinal fluid.

Exercise is considered important as is keeping the brain stimulated. Learning a language is considered highly effective also learning new things. It would appear dancing might help too, regular stimulation seems to be important and reading writing and arithmetic could also be helpful. Let me give you, even more, insight. In 1992, Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology, an independent division of Eastern University in Cheny, Washington built the first frequency monitor in the world. Tainio has determined that the average frequency of the human body during the daytime is 62-68 Hz. A healthy body frequency is in the range of 62-72 Hz. When the frequency drops, the immune system is compromised. If the frequency drops to 58 Hz cold and flu symptoms appear; at 55 Hz diseases like Candida take hold; at 52Hz Epstein Bar; and at 42 Hz Cancer.

Fascinating isn’t it.
